Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
